CBB new series launch date is announced

Written by on 1st August 2018

Celebrity Big Brother is back once again this year, although slightly later due to the otherwise clash from Love Island.

The announcement made via the Big Brother UK Twitter account  today reveals that this years CBB kicks off on 16th August at 9PM on Channel 5.

Rumours have been swirling as to which celebrities will be entering the iconic house, with Meghan Markle’s sister Samantha one of the most speculated names, especially as she seemed to confirm her participation in an interview last month.

Asked why she would join the show, Samantha retorted: “Why not? Life is about cashing in. You take opportunities as they arise, and hopefully you enjoy the ride, and you can make it as positive as you can.”

Other rumoured names include Paris Lees, Sally Morgan, Ryan Thomas, Kieran Hayler, and Gabby Allen. But we will find out for sure who’s going in on launch night.

The CBB eye for 2018.

Celebrity Big Brother‘s creative director Paul Osborne previously said that all of this year’s housemates have faced media scandals in the past.

“This year, all the celebrity housemates have a unique shared experience,” he said last month. “They’ve all weathered their own media storms. Under Big Brother‘s eye, their stories will be once again firmly in the spotlight and in the national conversation.

“This summer’s Celebrity Big Brother, like the new eye, is set to be electric.”

Celebrity Big Brother airs on Channel 5.
