999 Emergency Services Open Day

Where: Gwent Police Headquarters, Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran, NP44 2XJ

When: Sunday, 3rd June 2018 – 9.30 til 5.00

Gwent Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and Welsh Ambulance will be holding a fun filled open day for all the family, giving you no holds barred access to staff from all three services for any questions you may have about the work they do on a daily basis.  The day will be jam packed full of displays, plus there will be information stands, refreshments and entertainment for all ages.

Want to witness first hand Gwent Police’s canine heroes at work?! They will be carrying out a number of displays throughout the day, from demonstrating their outstanding agility to chasing down a suspect.  They will also be involved in our public order displays which are not to be missed!

Working alongside the Police Dogs will be the Joint Firearms Unit and Area Support Unit, along with South Wales Fire Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service.  There will be a number of exciting scenarios throughout the day to witness, plus staff will be available between displays to chat to about their busy working lives and to have a look at some of the tools and equipment that they use to assist in their jobs.

Don’t forget, by keeping an eye on the Event Page on Facebook, you will see all the latest updates.

What’s happening and when?

Here you will find all the information you need about the displays taking place throughout the day, the information stands and also the other exhibits that will be around the site.

The event is made up of a number of zones, with the Display and Vehicle Zones at Police Headquarters and the Food, Info and Kids Zones across the road at Crownbridge School.  If the displays are too much for the younger members of the family, they can spend time in the Kids Zone where they will be able to use the bouncy castle, rodeo bull, climbing walls, large inflatable slide and sumo suits, proceeds of which will go to All Creatures Great and Small.  If this hasn’t worn them out, there will also be games available and facepainting when they want to take a breather! All the parents will be delighted to know that there will also be ice cream trucks and snowy cones present…
