Time for a family workout every Friday with Go2gether in Griffithstown! They’re a community group supported by Bron Afon. Everyone is welcome for the next session on Friday 26th April at 5pm at St. Hilda’s Church Hall, in Griffithstown.

It’s a fun, sweat dripping workout, so pop along alone, with friends, or workout as a family. Just £3 for adults and £2 for children.

Disney Family Charity Event – Pontnewydd

There’s a Disney Family charity event taking place at Pontnewydd Workingmen’s Club in Cwmbran, on Sat 27th April, from 1-5pm. It includes a disco, quiz, bar, food, fancy dress and special guests. Adults £6, kids £4 in aid of the Eastern Valley Foodbank.


Michael Jackson & Ed Sheeran Tribute – Cwmbran

There’s another double tribute night at Cwmbran Workingmen’s Club, starring James Alexander as Michael Jackson and Red Sheeran as Ed Sheeran. It’s only £2 on the door into the big hall. You can play bingo and the tote and the event is open to non-members.

Bon Jovi Tribute – Pontypool

Rugbytots Free Taster Sessions – Griffithstown

Rugbytots is the world’s favourite rugby play programme. Their dynamic weekly sessions enable boys and girls aged 2-7 to develop their social and physical skills in a positive environment.

The next sessions are on Wed 1st May. For 2-3½ year olds from 3:15pm, 3½-5 year olds from 4pm, and 5-7 year olds at 4:45pm, and every Wednesday at that time at St Hilda’s Church Hall in Griffithstown.

Torfaen Play have organised a group for dad’s & their children, called Dad And Me. It takes place on the first Saturday of each month at the Integrated Children’s Centre, Ton Road, Cwmbran.

Car Boot Sale – Llantarnam

There’s another Car Boot Sale at The Greenhouse pub on Newport Road in Llantarnam! The date to remember is Sunday 12th May, from 8-11am.

Sellers set up at 7:30am and have to have vacated by 11:30am. Cars can be pre-booked in via the pub at £5 per car.

The pub will open from 8am serving tea and coffee, and from 9am for bacon sandwiches.

Do Re Mi Musical Theatre Events present A Magical Tea Party! 
Go and join some fairtytale friends for a Magical Tea Party with lots of fun and games, meet and greet with some of your favourite characters and a lots of singing and dancing!

This is day 1 (Friday 24th May) of the all weekend Cider Fest at The Greenhouse Pub, Newport Road, Llantarnam, from 11:30am-11:30pm.

A special range of ciders will be on sale all weekend for the full trading hours and a range of guest ales, The outside garden bar will also be open.

Live entertainment for this day will be Free Beer from 7:30-9:30pm.

Elvis Tribute Night – Blaenavon

There will be A Tribute To The King, Elvis Presley on Saturday 25th May at the Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall, High Street Blaenavon.

Summer Fun Day – Cwmbran

Greenmeadow Community Group have organised a Fun Day on Saturday 6th July at Cwmbran High Fields, with fire engines, face painting, bouncy castles, crafting stalls, food stalls, entertainment dog shows and a band/talent open mic.

The organisers are looking for local bands and artists to perform, giving you an opportunity as an up and coming artist to perform to the general public. Stage and PA equipment is available on the day, hosted by JP Entertainment. (Book your place by emailing [email protected])

Chi is holding another Charity Family Fun Day at the Pontypool United RFC Memorial Ground on Conway Road, Pontypool on Saturday 10th August. This year’s charity is The Samaritans. There will be plenty to do and lots of fun to have for all the family including their Big Win Raffle. More info will be updated closer to date.

If you run your own business and would like to go along to the event please contact Chione Matthews. And if you are able to provide a raffle prize that would be a great help also. Last year they managed to raise £800 and are hoping for bigger this year.

An Evening Of New Writing – Cwmbran

Writing Opportunity! Theatre AdHoc is a community theatre group in the Greater Gwent area. With an excellent reputation for producing well known plays, for 2018, the company took a leap of faith and held a new writings night where they showcased the writing talents of two of their members. The night was so successful that they want to do it again in 2019 – and this time include the talents of another emerging writer.

They are looking for a one act play of between 20-30 minutes that has not been produced elsewhere and has a maximum of 5 cast members. The successful play will be performed by Theatre AdHoc as part of the 2019 New Writings night on 17th September 2019 at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran. There’s a Jam tribute band playing in Pontypool on Sat October 12th. A Band Called Malice perform at the Dragonffli, on Crumlin Street in Pontypool. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 9:15pm until 1.30am. Tickets £10 advance.
