Torfaen Council leader launches Christmas support campaign

Anthony Hunt, Leader of Torfaen Council, has launched a campaign for Christmas support in Torfaen.
A Facebook page called Santa’s Little Helpers Torfaen has been set up by Anthony Hunt.
A post on the page reads:
We know things aren’t easy this Christmas, so we’re doing our best to help make it special even if it can’t be like we’d want it to be.
Getting presents has been made more difficult by the pandemic. So if you’re a local business that can deliver presents, leave a post below detailing what you have for sale and how you can deliver safely and within the rules.
Also, if you can help ‘buddy up’ with someone to arrange delivery of a gift over the internet, please volunteer below so people can get in touch.
We also know times are hard for many people financially. So if you’re an organisation or individual who has a spare gift that could help make someone else’s Christmas, please post below so people can get in touch.
Whatever you do, please minimise contact and follow the latest Covid-19 restrictions – no gift is worth risking your health for.
This is not charity, it’s community – people helping other people in a difficult time.
