Car park gates closed at Cwmbran Boating Lake

The car park gates were closed at Cwmbran Boating Lake yesterday following reports to Gwent Police.
Yesterday afternoon, Gwent Police were called to the Boating Lake after complaints were made regarding the amount of people there.
It was reported that the car parks were really busy and Cwmbran Boating Lake was full with people who had driven there. Police were asking people to return home.
Current COVID-19 guidelines about exercise makes it clear that you can leave home as you like for exercise but you should not be driving anywhere for exercise or leisure.
The car parks will remain closed for the foreseeable future if further misuse is found.
Due to Gwent Police being called, the decision has been made to close the car parks at the Boating Lake and Garn Lakes.
