Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice with most of the UK affected.
The weather warning is currently in place until 10.00 tomorrow (Tuesday 29th December).
Met Office predicts icy surfaces developing overnight, with a little snow in places.
A largely dry evening, though today’s showers are likely to continue along the west coast. Overnight, these showers may turn wintry and move inland affecting central areas for a time before clearing. Widespread frosts and icy patches are likely. Minimum temperature -3 °C.
Forecast for Tuesday 30th December:
The west coast showers continue. Rain for a time in the morning, falling as snow on hills, then clearing in the afternoon to leave sunny spells for most. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
What to expect:
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
