It’s the news you’ve all been waiting for – we’re opening back up!
We are delighted with the First Minister’s announcement today regarding the re-opening of our sector from the 10th August. As you can appreciate after being in lockdown since the 20th March, we need to take some time to review the detailed guidance and our first priority as always is to speak to our Team, but we will be coming back to everybody as soon as possible, with more news regarding our re-opening.
As a Trust, the financial impact on our facilities has been significant and we will continue to work with the Welsh Sports Association and Community Leisure UK to evidence how important it is that we receive further funding to ensure the stability of our Trust and Sector.
The Community, Club and Partner support throughout this pandemic has been overwhelming and we quite literally cannot wait to welcome you back into our facilities but we ask that you remain patient with us whilst we adjust to this new way of working.
We have been planning and preparing for the last four and a half months for this day. Over the coming days we will be issuing more communication to our Members, Clubs and wider community regarding the new way in which we must work to ensure our colleagues and customers remain safe.
We’ve always been sure that as a sector we are the answer and not the problem. BUT now more than ever we need the community behind us to ensure that we remain stable for the months ahead.
We are intending on taking a phased approach on the re-opening of our facilities and services but I am pleased to announce that Pontypool Active Living Centre will reopen its doors on Monday 10th August and Cwmbran Stadium will re-open its doors on Wednesday 12th August. We will issue more news regarding the re-opening on Monday.
Please be mindful that the way we deliver our business as a result of the COVID pandemic has had to change and it is important that you keep up to date with the communication and details next week.
