Temporary Torfaen Covid-19 test centres to close

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board have announced that the temporary Covid-19 ‘walk-up’ test centres in Blaenavon and Pontypool will close on Friday 30 October.

If you have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19), you are still able to book an appointment at the centres by calling 0300 30 31 222 between 8am – 8pm.

Blaenavon Temporary Testing Facility

Blaenavon Iron Works – Car Park NP4 9RN
9am-12.30pm daily
Open until Friday 30/10/2020

Pontypool Temporary Testing Facility

Old Mill Car Park, Trosnant Street, Pontypool, NP4 8AT
2pm – 4.30pm daily
Open until Friday 30/10/2020

The test is done in 5 minutes and is only for residents of Torfaen at these testing facilities.

Please remember to:

  • Bring ID and proof of address
  • Wear a face covering on the way to and from your test
  • Not use public transport
  • Not visit any shops or other places on the way to or from your test

For people who live outside the Torfaen area, there are other testing facilities available in Gwent. You can also have a test posted to your home. Apply online at or call 119.
